about

Sad Scandipop submerged in gently fuzzy tape loops.

Sunken broadcasts of half recalled memories. Distant, partial and obscured.

Cinematic songs combining Grouper's wistful deviations with the warm fuzz of Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, the nocturnal hum of Emeralds, the crackling collapse of William Basinski and Low's glacial pop melancholy.

This initial phase of Beneather focuses on the perseverance of recollecting memory. Processing what we remember and what we dont. Some moments are strong and clear, others are lost. How a memory has edges, a road we can’t quite recall the end of. Missing faces. Faded buildings. The sonic treatment of Melinda’s voice is directly influenced by this. Nonsensical sounds, frequencies and rhythms create a melody you cant quite hold on to.

Lewis and Melinda are also longtime composers and collaborators in The Leaf Library - drone pop from north London.
